Location Trumps Everything Else
If the gym is more than a quarter-hour away, it will eventually fall off. Congestion, conditions, job strain—something will derail your plan.
The ideal gym isn't the flashiest. It's the one you can actually reach on days when you're tired or unmotivated.
Align the Setting with Your Personality
Some people flourish in busy, lively atmospheres. Others retreat when it feels crowded or hectic. Neither preference is wrong, but picking the unsuitable environment comes with a cost.
Notice how you feel on the initial visits. Energized or drained? Focused or scattered? That reaction matters more than the features.
Do Not Ignore Peak Hours
Go to the gym at the times you intend to train. A peaceful midday tour won't reveal how it feels at 7 PM.
If you already dislike waits or crowding during the trial, they'll bother you much more once the novelty wears off.
